Sorry for stealing your thunder, BigLee. Feel free to still post your Results as you have more details than I do on match times, etc.
There were about 40 fans in attendance. I had hoped the attendance would be better, given that Quack vs. Claudio was announced, but then again this is Evansville where there were a couple of IWA shows with AJ Styles, CM Punk, Alex Shelley, Sabin, Claudio, and more that didn't draw well. Bell time was 7:30, but this is CCW, so as we expected, it started at 8.
1. Dr. Blue vs. The Baker
-This was a bad match that probably shouldn't have been on one of CCW's biggest shows. The ending was really weird too. Blue tried to pull an illegal object to hit Baker with and he was hiding it from the ref. He swung and missed and then Baker picks up a huge pan thing and hits him in the head with it right in front of the ref, but instead of calling for a DQ, the ref just makes the count. I still don't think it was announced as a No DQ match because if it was, Blue would've had no reason to hide the object from the ref.
2. CCW LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
w/ SPECIAL GUEST REF Scarlett Rose
JP Lightning vs. "The Killa" Billy Hardaway (Champ)
-Walt announced that last week, Billy (Junk) Hardaway attacked Scarlett Rose (JP's Girlfriend) and piledrove her and he has been cheating in most of his matches, so there would be a Special Guest Ref, which was Scarlett Rose. Billy tried to walk out and get counted out, so that he would still retain his title, but Walt informed him that he would lose the title on a count out, so he entered the ring and the match begin. This match was alright. These guys are pretty green, but definitely have potential. Throughout the match, whenever Billy would go for a pin, Scarlett would count extremely slow. Billy got fed up and went to give her a piledriver. While he had her down, JP hit him with an enziguiri and rolled him up and Scarlett counted one of the fastest 3 counts I have ever seen, so JP won the Title.
3. Lince Dorado vs. Ophidian
-These are two of Quack's trainees. Ophidian was announced from Egypt and has a snake like mask and hisses. Lince's mask looks somewhat like a cat. These guys are awesome. The match was REALLY fast paced and they definitely won me over as a fan. I need to check out some Chikara tapes. I believe that Lince Dorado won, but I can't really remember. The match was great though.
4. Sara Del Rey vs. Daizee Haize
-This was my second time seeing Sara Del Ray live. She came out to “Final Countdown”, which is awesome. Despite a lot of disrespectful comments by some in the crowd, they still put on a pretty good match. I don't think the crowd realized what a huge star Sara Del Ray (and Daizee for that matter) is. In the end, Daizee won with the Daizee Cutter.
5. Claudio Castagnoli vs Lightning Mike Quackenbush
-This is the match I came to see and it definitely delivered. It's been a long time since I've seen Claudio live and he is a beast. He has put on tons of muscle mass since last time (IWA in E-ville or Vincennes I think). This was my first time seeing Quack live and it was a treat. They put on a clinic, doing tons of maneuvers that I had never seen before. These guys are so d**n impressive. Vince McMahon is an idiot for letting Claudio go (although he probably wouldn't have been utilized properly there anyway). The match went about 10-15 minutes. Even though the crowd was rooting for Quack, whenever he would go for a pin, me and my friends would yell Noooo, because we didn't want it to end. Claudio hit his signature uppercut, which was brutal during the match. Quack got the win with a hurricanrana into a pin (I think). I can't wait for IWA MS's Ted Petty Invitational this year. This match got me hype for that (as if I wasn't already). I hope these guys return to CCW at some point (which I'd imagine that they might the week of XCW's next show.)
6. "Marvelous" Mitch Ryder vs. Gypsie Joe
-JC Ice(Jamie Dundee) got hurt in the XCW show, so he couldn't make it. It sucks that he's hurt, but I'm not upset that he couldn't make it because I'm majorly not a fan. Mitch came out and said, “last night, I put Jamie Dundee in the hospital, and I am just as proud as I can be” or something like that. Good stuff. He told Walt that he wanted to know who his replacement was going to be tonight. Me and my friends were yelling Mark Wolf. Then he said it is somebody that brings the pain, so we were thinking maybe Bull Pain. Then out comes GYPSIE JOE. The match was pretty much a brawl and I wasn't paying that much attention to it, so I don't really remember who won. Sorry.
-We then took a brief intermission, which apparently means 30-45 minutes. They put the barbed wire around the ropes and that took like 5 minutes. Then they announced it was time for the main event and then they played like 4 Toby Keith songs, while we sat there waiting. I don't know what took so long. It seems like my major complaint on all CCW shows returns, which is the show starting late and loooooong intermissions.
7. CCW Heavyweight Title Match
Bunkhouse Brawl w/ Barbed Wire
Tracy Smothers vs. Lonestar (Champ)
-Lonestar came out with lightubes taped together to form a huge star. Tracy comes out and praises the Coliseum, talking about how it is the longest reigning wrestling building and has so much history. He then said that if he doesn't win the Title tonight, he is leaving CCW. He got the crowd chanting CCW to start the match. This match was an AWESOME brawl. The barbed wire wasn't used very much, which is fine by me. They took it outside the ring and through the crowd and threw each other into the merchandise tables (not like WWE tables, but really thick tables.) They then set one of the tables up against a wall and repeatedly threw each other into it, which was brutal. They pretty much destroyed the bottom of that table. Then Tracy pushed Lonestar into this box of ashtrays, which came tumbling down and metal ashtrays were scattered everywhere. Then they fought into the lobby and Tracy body slammed Lonestar (who is huge) onto the hard floor. Ouch. They then took it outside onto the CONCRETE in front of the building. Cars were driving by. I wonder what those people driving were thinking. Me and my friends noticed that there was a sign advertising Bingo at the Coliseum out front and we were joking that the people were probably saying, “Man, that Veterans Bingo ain't no joke.” Eventually, they made their way back to the ring. Tracy slammed Lonestar onto the star and then hit a DDT. He went for the pin and Double R(Lonestar's manager) pulled the ref out. The ref punched Double R and made his way back into the ring. I missed it, but Tracy got Lonestar down again for the 1..2...3. Winner and New CCW Champion, Tracy Smothers. That was a great way to end the show.
-Overall, it was an awesome show. Again, my only complaints being the late start time and the long intermissions. There was one phenomenal match (Quack vs. Claudio), a really fast paced Lightweight match (Ophidian vs. Dorado), a good Ladies match (Del Ray vs. Daizee), and a really good brawl (Tracy vs. Lonestar), so it pretty much had it all. Great job CCW.
