CCW Fans,
Things are really heating up as we head toward next weeks big Memorial Show for Da' Commish and BBB.
After the anthem the bell was rung ten times in honor of CEO Charlie Lowe's mother who passed away Tuesday and Trey Keller and independent worker who has worked in Evansville in the past.
In the opening match The Baker squared off against Smoke-A, one of the wrestlers who will be featured in the Gauntlet for The Gold next week. At first this seems like a huge mismatch with the Baker having the edge in size, strength, and experience, but what Smoke-A lacks in size, strength, and experience he makes up for with speed, athletic ability, and enthusiasm. Smoke-A was doing the smart thing and used his speed to control the tempo of the match until Baker's temper spurred him to use shall we say less than legal tactics. Then after arguing with Ref Dave Matthews about how to count to three, Smoke-A got a near fall with a school boy roll up. Big Sweaty Mike made his way to ringside to attempt to help Smoke-A, but this backfired when Baker took advantage of the distraction to once again retrieve his metal breadboard and crack it over Smoke-A's head and pin him. As BSM helped a dazed Smoke-A to the back he kept saying he was only trying to help. Help who I wonder?
Winner: The Baker at the 8:27 mark
The next match saw the return of J. Grunge to action after a week's absence. I wonder if that absence had anything to do with turning his back on long time partner Viper two weeks ago. This week he faces Big Sweaty Mike. Evidently Grunge was sending a message to Viper as he was more ruthless, vicious, and just flat out mean than I have ever seen. No chain wrestling here just open faced brutality. Grunge hit the Big man early and was relentless through the whole match, choking and beating Mike. Mike was finally beginning to launch some offense of his own and was getting ready to launch a somersaulting splash on Grunge in the corner. He runs cross corner and somersaults in mid air to smash into his opponent with his butt. He calls it a butt Splash me I'd call it "Killer Crack" Anyway, in rushes the Baker to pull Grunge out of the corner and out of harms way and jump on the apron. As "Undefeated" Dave Matthews (see last weeks results) tried to get him out of there, Grunge took the opportunity to pick up the big chain he always wears around his neck and smash Big Sweaty Mike in the head and cover him for 3. I'm not sure what's going on between Big Sweaty and the Baker but if these two collide its gonna be a huge impact.
Winner: J. Grunge at the 7:35 mark
Right after this match Viper hit the ring and he and Grunge stood toe to toe pounding the hell out of each other until Grunge rolled out and headed for the back. Viper grabbed the Mic and sent a message to Grunge. He told Grunge he better have eyes in the back of his head and check every dark doorway he passed because sooner or later somewhere Viper would get his hands on him.
The next match had "Sugar" Shane Matthews escorted by, and the crowd goes mild, Dan O'Mannly. Hurray!! Not!! taking on Mystic Juvenile. Both these men will be involved in the Gauntlet for the Gold next week. I don't think "Sugar Shane and Mr. O'Mannly were taking Juvenile very seriously as an opponent. Their mistake! After the bell Juvenile unleashed a flurry of arm drags and drop kicks to quickly take "Sugar" Shane to the mat and lock in an arm bar. This infuriated O'Mannly. ;D Matthews used his own mat skills which are considerable to get out of the arm bar. As a matter of fact, Matthews has enough talent and ability to be a great wrestler without the aid of Mr. O'Mannly or the tactics he sometimes uses. It's a shame he doesn't see that. Matthews approached Juvenile more cautiously and was able to gain the upper hand and laced Juvenile with chops in the corner that rang throughout the coliseum. O'Mannly constantly whined to Dave Matthews about slow counts and taking cheap shots when available but the match inside the ring was really enjoyable. Amped up action from two guys that can really go in the ring. If only O'Mannly hadn't been there, it could have gone either way. However, Juvenile gained the upper hand with a drop kick and hit an enzeguri that rang through the rafters. He went to the top rope and signaled a 450 splash was on the way. Then O'Mannly jumped to the apron and whacked him in the back with his cane and Ref Dave Matthews called for the bell. I saw Juvenile's back later and it had a huge welt and was bleeding. One day Dan O'Mannly will get his.
Winner: Mystic Juvenile by DQ at the11:35 mark
I couldn't help pointing out to Matthews that he is winless since hiring O'Mannly as his manager nor have I seen him on NWA-TNA as O'Mannly promised. O'Mannly was livid. I love pissing this guy off!!! Hurray for me
After the first intermission I went back over the card for next week
Mad Man Pondo vs JC Bailey for The Juggalo Championship
Gauntlet for The Gold Light Heavyweight Championship
I told the crowd there would also be a Fans Battle Royal
next week $10 entry fee and the winner gets 2 free passes to every CCW show in October.
Tickets for all seats next week will be $10 and no coupons will be accepted for this one show.
I also informed the crowd that after last week's show Evansville's own "Thorobred" Rex Sexton went to the CCW offices and said he was tired of Lonestar and company thinking they could do whatever they want and would do whatever it took to get a match with "The Texas Hangman" When approached by the front office the Champ said it didn't matter how much "Inbred" Rex
whined, he hadn't proved himself worthy of stepping into the ring with a wrestler of his caliber much less a title shot. He would however gladly get in the ring and beat the juice out of the jacked up jabroni. So as the main event tonight "Thorobred" Rex Sexton would take on "The Texas Hangman" in a non-title bout.
Then I was joined in the ring by Tracy Smothers who said a few words about Trey Keller and how sad it was to keep losing the young men of wrestling and then moved on to the subject of Lonestar. He said that anytime you have to face Lonestar you also have to worry about Penelope and any number of others who might jump in. He said that he liked and respected Rex Sexton as a young lion and had offered to be in his corner and watch his back. He told the crowd if that Gray haired witch interfered tonight she would get what was coming to her.
Important calls coming in: Back later with part two
